Flex Dufourt

Edouard Dufourt studied as a lapidary in Antwerp. There, he studied the carving of diamonds and in the early 1970s became the last hand diamond cuter in France. A character with many talents, he is at the same time a founder, sculptor and artisan jeweler. He was also known in the 1950s for his talents as a burlesque actor. On the Parisian stage, he performs burlesque acts such as La Mort du Cygne or an acrobatic act in which he plunges from a certain height into rings of cigarette smoke. He plays in the films of director Louis Félix. In Hot Hours, Summer Heat, as well as in Ce Sacré Amédée alongside Françoise Fabian, Philippe de Chérisey and Jacques Dufilho. He played several roles there: the oriental prince of Kanaga and the director of the Tandré theater, under the pseudonym of Jules d’Huran. He stands out for his playing à la Jacques Tati, and for his acrobatics inspired by the cinema of his childhood, among others Buster Keaton whom he admires.
